Scan Tool — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Scan Tool (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the App. Scan Tool is a document-scanning utility designed to work entirely on your device. We built the App around a simple principle: your documents stay with you.

1. Summary

We do not operate accounts or cloud servers for your content.
Your scans, images, PDFs, and recognized text never leave your device unless you choose to share or export them.
We do not sell your data, show third-party advertising, or track you across other apps or websites.

2. Information We Process

Documents and images. Photos you capture or import, and the documents, PDFs, and long images you generate, are stored locally within the App’s storage on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or have access to this content.
Recognized text and translations. OCR is performed on-device using Apple Vision and on-device machine-learning models. Translation is performed using on-device models. Source images and resulting text are processed locally and are not uploaded.
App settings. Preferences (language, default enhancement, sort order) and your in-app credit and membership status are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect personally identifying information, your contacts, your location, the advertising identifier (IDFA), or analytics that identify you. The App contains no third-party advertising and no cross-app tracking. We do not use App Tracking Transparency because we do not track you.

4. Device Permissions

Camera — used only to capture documents when you start a scan.
Photo Library — used only when you import images to scan, or save results back to Photos.

You may grant or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. The App requests a permission only when you use the related feature.
